Topamax for chronic migraine post VM 18 months on

Hi im 18 months post VM and suffering with chronic migraine. My neuro has prescribed me topamax just wondering has anyone ever been on this drug does it help and are there any side effects??

I take Topamax (100mg) AM & @ Bedtime. I have never experienced Any side effects BUT my neurologist recently tried to switch me to a Time-Released Topamax and it made me sicker & feel very strange. I stopped it immediately!!! This might not be something you want to do or try but my headaches are worse than the traditional Migraines. I put ice packs on my head, neck, & exactly where the headache starts. My headaches are on the side of my head & now the back of my head & neck. They have gotten worse! My pain dr did “Occipital Nerve Blocks” this morning for my headaches. I’m hoping they help! Let me k ow about your progress. My Bacterial Meningitis diagnosis was Sept. 2,2016 so I’m almost 2 years.

Ask about a blood patch....that should really help if you have a leak from the spinal tap.....
