Benign myoclonus movements

Hi my son who's now 8 weeks got BM at 3 weeks old. One week ago today he had 1 st set of immunisations including men B

I don't know if it's a coincidence or a side effect of the BM but he's started getting these weird episodes which look like fits. I had him to accident and emergency and they diagnosed benign sleep myoclonus. They couldn't define if it was something to do with the BM or start of epilepsy or totally coincidence.

I'm worried about his top up jabs now for fear it will make these worse. However I did want him to have MEn B and c.

Anyone any experience of these?

I am so sorry to hear that you precious son has had BM at 3 weeks old and now at 8 weeks has developed benign sleep myoclonus. Why don't you give the Meningitis Now helpline a ring and talk this through with them. They will have more knowledge of the Meningitis immunisations and potential adverse effects. I assume that your son is being followed up by a specialist such as a paediatrician or will have been under a specialist when he had the BM. I would suggest that you phone the consultants secretary and explain what has happened and seek advice about the immunisations.
