Hi i got to see the neuro surgeon in Bristol yesterday about my front lobe meningioma. He said that as im not having any signs of side effects that he wants to wait and watch for a while. So feeling relieved but wonder if i still have to inform dvla. Does anyone know please..? And do i have to call them or what.?
Thankyou Bests

I have a small calcified meningioma, found by chance when I had a head scan to check if I’d had any brain damage following a possible heart attack. I had no side effects from the meningioma, just a follow up scan after a year which showed no change. There was no suggestion that I had to notify DVLA. Consultants are usually very diligent in advising patients to stop driving if they think their condition requires them to. If you have no ill effects or symptoms that would adversely affect your driving skills you are not required to notify DVLA as far as I know. I still have no symptoms, have been discharged and am still driving.
OK thankyou.. I have done a notification online before I got your reply.. So l will have to fill out a questionnaire now, but the neuro surgeon did say that if dvla ask him he will say that my meningioma should have no effect on my driving ability. So i was just covering myself as i thought I would be fined if i didn't report it. Glad to hear that you are doing good. Thanks again😀
