I have a small meningioma and it was found when I fell over and hit my head. Following two scans and an MRI it was decided that no action was necessary just now but .... after the two scans a doctor at the hospital thought I should be on Topiramate Accord 25mg in case I had a fit. So far I have not started these tablets as the side effects look horrible and I take so many other tablets for heart and lungs. Is Topiramate prescribed automatically for Meningiomas please.

Small Meningioma
Hi I had a meningioma and required a craniotomy to remove it and just before my operation I had a sezuire and they put me on keppra in which I’m still on those have a lot of side effects also but lucky I haven’t suffered for any if your unsure ask your doctor for advice or take them and see how you react to them hopefully they don’t effect you .
Thank you for your reply Molly. I am on carbamazapine (tegretol) 3 times a day to keep the pain away. As they are also "fit prevention" I didn't want yet more side effects.
Had I not tripped over the computer wire and bashed my head badly, it possibly would not have been discovered.
Thank you again for replying.... I think I am too old for a craniootomy, although I did have an ablation on my 82nd birthday.
My Neuro said he removed a tumour the size of a satsuma and roughly been there 30+yrs as they only grow 1mm to 1mm and half a year if I hadn’t of passed out at work or head a sezuire I would never had know hope all works out for you if you decided on taking them.
