Help with my son

You probably need to be gently assertive on his behalf to get him help before he changes schools. The school will know his abilities and I'd be surprised if they had not sought additional support for him already. I would ask them what they have done, I would ask them for an educational psychology assessment. I would also speak to the gp about your concerns and maybe push for a peadiatric assessment. Sometimes us parents have to fight, especially when resources are scarce so that the child is not overlooked. This is the most important thing you can do to protect your child and make his life easier. Getting on registers now will help him in many ways.
You'll need to get Son put on the Register, ask Gp to make Referal for Assessments Peidiatrist & School need to bring in SEND, EHCP etc. They should of all done this, if not you need to Push for All & there are special Schools for Learning Disabilities, Difficulties, Dorchester & Wimborne area's, have one. Take care.
I would write a list of all your concerns and take him to the GP and see if they can get the ball rolling in terms of diagnosis. In my area, parents can refer their children to the speech and language therapy service, so I would Google that and see if its the same where you are.
The school can provide special education services without a diagnosis. I would apply for an EHCP (Education Health and Care Plan). Information on how to do this is on the IPSEA website ipsea.org.uk/ehc-needs-asse...
