Trust bank account

I have a disabled persons trust for my daughter and now need to open a trust bank account. I’m not keen on Metro given the financial difficulties they have had. I know of Cater Allen though would need to pay for an introduction which we would do as a last resort but I just want to see if there are any other banks or building societies who offer trust bank accounts. I read that Skipton may do?

Thanks very much

Eve

Hi Eve, I know it's a nightmare finding anywhere that offers Trust accounts! Barclays certainly did a couple of years ago though so I'd suggest giving them a try. Good luck!

I asked Barclays about a year/fifteen months ago and they said they no longer offer these. Very frustrating since I have banked with them all my life (40+ years) and they seem able to offer all manner of other services and benefits that have little or nothing to do with banking.

Sorry to hear this - when I was enquiring (Oct 2021) must have been just before they stopped. I thought at the time it was crazy how few places provide Trust accounts but it's evidently got worse! Wishing you the best of luck on your quest!

Hi SadieRyan. I was seeking a trust bank account about a year ago for my daughter, and Cater Allen were apparently the only bank who would offer a trust account. I did not have to pay for an introduction, but I was using a solicitor so perhaps that was the introduction. It took them the best part of a year to actually open the account (from the point of submitting all the information they requested) but now the account is set up, funds deposited and online banking is organised, I think we are finally sorted! The lack of choice is very frustrating, and I can't help but wonder what will happen if and when Cater Allen decide that they will no longer operate this type of account. Good luck - I hope you get something set up soon.
