Accommodation for people with mild LD (not diagnosed)

Hi all

I'm looking to find a way forward with housing for someone with a mild learning disability. Not sure if they were diagnosed in the past, but in more recent years they were told their learning disability and other disabilities didn't meet the required threshold. It's very annoying to hear learning disability teams dismiss people as not having a learning disability (after a very brief assessment) when those who know them are very clear that they do.

I'm worried that general needs housing just isn't going to work - especially after an eviction notice. If the person is seen to have caused their own homelessness (and learning disability is not taken into account) I'm worried there will be no housing options left.

Is there any self-contained accommodation that anyone knows about for people with mild learning difficulties where there is support to cope with many aspects of life, and that will give people a second chance when all else has failed...? Ideally in north London, accepting Universal Credit, but with no deposit??!

Thanks!

I hope you're able to find somewhere soon. I would try calling Mencap and Shelter and see if they can offer any advice.
