Ask social services to send you a booklet and check out online the care quality commission and look at the home ratings and their report results and my best advice is make sure it’s as local as possible so loved ones can do unannounced drop ins and keep a close eye on their loved ones to ensure they are being cared for as you would wish for.

Thank you for you relply , is there excellent ones out there already tried two one was residentual which was horrid ! Our daugher is home with us now where i employ a PA ! The last placement was wonderful until they sold it and a Big company took over they redused staff left her unsafe so we pulled her home where she is safe !

We have depodyship and i am on it ! Just dread the day i am no longer here 🥲

I know it’s always our biggest worry or that we’re leaving our worries with our children to deal with their siblings issues just awful as it’s the last thing you want to put on your other children. My son is in a much much better placement now but my god the other place he was sent to was horrendous in Harlow the worst two years of my life and my sons I honestly thought he was going to die in there. But thank god we got him out just in time.

Isn't it awful when we put our loved ones into these places naively thinking that they'll be getting the best trained care and support.

I'm in the process of pulling my sister out of one of these places. Their standards have deteriorated over the years with mergers, high staff turnover and an ability to cover up poor standards.

I recently took out a Deputyship for her to enable the authorities to speak to me about her care and support needs.

Have you got both deputyships and if the issues get to big and to much you can always get a consultant social worker whose Independent and they should know their stuff around policies laws etc. I had to do that as the problems just got to big for me to manage on my own. Good luck

Hi, I do have both deputyship for Health and Finance. Can you recommend any ISWs in the Birmingham area as I seem to be uncovering one failing after another.

So sad i constantly hear about awful places ! We have Depodyship and i just decided enough was enough and bought her home to us! Sadly the placment was sold to a big company and they kept it short staffed ! Social care 🤷‍♀️ I just emailed them requesting a review of her care , i already managed her care funding anyway ! I employ a PA x

hi Sunshinelilly welcome to the group. avoid at all costs creative support. i know its sad to say that when not all the staff shoud be avoided and i do really like some of the staff and know some of them are in it for real caring reasons but ive had nothiing but trobule with them. you just have to google 'glassdoor creative support' to read all the reviews on the company (though theyre writen by support staff not service users) if you want to know everything i know about them then pleease feel free to PM me,im unfortunately a service user for the past two services ive been in.

I too am having issues with creative support and believe they should be renamed creative control. They bully good staff who genuinely care and usually loose them. They dictate how someone is cared for and put up with inolvement from relatives rather than working with us openly to get the best outcome for my daughter.
