Can anyone advise what the service charge should be for a supported living house? This is to cover utility bills. I am trying to find alternative accommodation for my 23 yr old but have been asked for £300pm. This seems high to me.

Supported living service charge
that does seem high. I would ask for a breakdown of what the charge includes and copies of previous bills to check the figures. My son’s charge is around d £120 per month and covers gas, electric and water/sewerage.
My son is in a house with 2 othered. Our Landlord lists everything in the costing including a small amount for things like replacing white goods, gardening, painting , maintenance. This is all paid for by HB. Utilities are paid by the tenants to the landlord. Each of the 3 tenants pays £25 per week/£100 every 4 weeks, .This covers gas, electric and water. If the £300 pm is just for utilities that does seem a lot.
Hi that is very high just for utility bills. My son lives in supported living and pays £33 a week to cover bills. Hope this is helpful best regards Sharon
I live in a shared house with two others and my share of the house bills is £310 a month
my daughter pays 13.50 per week to cover service charges (Northants)
my daughter pays £100 a week but this includes her food.
I presume it depends on the housing set up, does she live on her own or how many people is she sharing with. Electricity and gas are the main concerns. My son paid roughly that sharing with one other person, then I found out the staff were leaving the heating on all weekend when the lads went home every other weekend!! They don't really care when someone else is paying the bills. Check with manager or whoever where this money is going.
