Hello, I was wondering whether my daughter is entitled to Universal credit if she already claims PIP? She is 21 and lives at home. Thanks

Hi. Check out turn2us website for more info or citizens advice or google your question which will take you to the government website

There’s a benefits helpline you can call or speak to turn2us website or speak to the mencap helpline.

Yes, PIP isn’t means tested. If your daughter receives PIP it may well entitle her to a higher level of UC. As others have said, it would be a good idea to have a benefits check for your whole household as these benefits sometimes make you or your daughter eligible for other help. If your daughter has Down’s syndrome, the DSA has an excellent benefit helpline, or you might have a local Carers group who can point you to local benefits Advice, or Mencap might be able to help.

Yes you can claim US You will also need an unfit to work note from your GP. It’s a long process, to get all the entitlement, and we had to get our local MP involved to speed things up.
