My son is 26 with traits of autism and a learning disabilty . He gets esa and pip and lives at home with me. i am his carer and apointee and his mother. The thing is i am now getting older now and worry how his going to cope when im not here no more as last year i had blood clots and nearly died. i know he wouldnt be able to sort things out on his own so i was thinking of going into how he could get a place on his own as i could still help him with every thing how do i go about this ?.

Hi. You need to get in touch with adult social services in your area to see what help they can give you. You can also contact mencap for advice and there are other charities such as carers Uk that can help. Golden Lane is the housing arm of Mencap and they are helping me with supported living in my area so I would get in touch with them as well. Good luck.
