Hello. I'm Harriet and I am a Research Officer at Mencap.
I have been working with the University of Tizard who are running a research project called Safer Online Lives. Here is some information about the project:
Many people with a learning disability have internet access and use social media. Even though the internet can be very positive, it also comes with risks, such as cyber-bullying and exploitation. They want to make the internet a safer, more inclusive, and more accessible place for adults with a learning disability, and reduce the risks associated with internet use. They want to promote independence, and the use of the internet for the opportunities and benefits that it can offer.
They would like to hear from carers (paid and unpaid), professionals and adults with a learning disability, about their experiences and perspectives. If you are interested in taking part in an interview or focus group, please go to these links
