I wanted to share with you an opportunity to attend a free online Q&A session with MP’s on Tuesday 9th November. If you’ve ever wanted to know what an MP actually does, or how you can become involved in politics, then this is for you.
We want to make sure that people with a learning disability are represented and able to participate in parliamentary engagement. We hope this session will provide awareness and knowledge of how you can engage with your Member of Parliament, and take action on the issues you care about.
The event takes place on 9th November at 4pm, and will include a panel of MPs and Councillors sharing their experiences and answering your questions.
This is part of UK Parliament Week.

Hi Creamcrackers,Good question. It's an online event that takes place on Tuesday 9th November at 4pm. If you'd like to book onto the event or ask a question, my colleague Jameela is the person to talk to. She'll be able to tell you more about who'll be there and would be pleased to hear from you. hi Gareth_Mencap i am learning disabled, plus autistic, epileptic, physicaly dsabled etc, can i be a part of this?
id love to be able to ask any MP really some questions, are we stuck to only asking one question per user? and does it have to be topics made by them?
do we ask the questions in advance or are these spoken freely?
if i am acepted itno thiss talk,im also wondering if it coud be made aware i woud be speaking with proloquo2go on my ipad-some people interupt me a lot thinking im finished when im still busy typing- i use my gaming laptop for the camera of whatever video call app it is and its prety good at picking up proloquo2go chat, but it depends on the other persons end, like how good their internet is,i m using vodafone fibre optic, its 50 odd MBPS,ive had problems with my parents not hearing my ipad before which really frustrates me but they have really really bad internet and a very old laptop with a bad soundcard.
Hi there, apologies for the delay in replying I have been checking with Jameela for you.
She says:
The question and answer session will be after all the MPs and councillors have done their presentations
You can pre-submit some questions that can be read out by Jameela on the day or you can wait to put your hand up to ask a question at the end/write in the chat.
There’s no limit on how many questions, but depending on how many people are there, you might not be able to ask all your questions. Perhaps, pick your most important questions to answer first?
Everyone on the call will be on mute until the MPs finish their presentations and we start the Q&A session, but Jameela will make sure everyone gets their chance to ask their question in full without being interrupted.
