Hello Chel1306 and welcome to the forum. I am sorry to hear that you are not very happy with the current situation. The Government have advised that some of the rules can be relaxed.

Individually we can continue to keep ourselves safe by wearing masks and keeping distance.Provided you have had at least 2 vaccinations you will be a lot safer than the idiots who could not seem to care. The booster vaccinations are being given to health and social care workers and everybody over 50 years of age and all the vulnerable people over the age of 16.Having a learning disability indicates that you or your daughter will get a booster..You should have received a letter inviting you for a booster but try to book an appointment online or by phoning 119.

You and your daughter will be classed as the most vulnerable. We all need to keep safe and await what happens without worrying too much. The 2 vaccinations you have had will protect you.

Thanks for your reply. Yes she will be entitled to a booster however they have sent for my dad but not myself,y daughter, her carer or me! What dumbfounded me, is that they jabe full knowledge that young adults with a learning disability was 6x more likely to contract covid & 29% of deaths in the first lockdowm were young adults with a learning disability.... & they see fit to end sheilding without making sure all those vulnerable have recieved their boosters!! It screams negligence on their part! Esp when they did an enquiry into this just last year! All those immunosuppressed that will now have to return to work too... & as for them telling you to raise any concerns with their consultant..has anyone actually seen their consultant throughout covid?? Mine won't even return an email!!

Yes, we had one too! It is just another example of the disgusting way the ill and vulnerable have been treated throughout this pandemic. It feels like our loved ones are collateral damage in the single minded aim to protect the economy. Don’t forget though that it is just a letter, you will still be able to get supermarket deliveries if you plan in advance ( though probably not at Christmas when all the ‘can’t face the queues’ people take all the slots that the elderly and vulnerable need!) and some chemists will do deliveries if you explain the situation. I would hope that services for the vulnerable like day centres will continue to keep their clients Covid safe and then it’s down to us to do what we need to, to keep them safe. I feel so sorry for people on chemo and similar whose lives are literally being threatened by all this.
