I have an autistic son who is 22 . As yet he has no job so therefore has not paid national insurance .
My question is … if he remains purely claiming PIP a will he get an old age pension or should we as parents be buying additional years … mencap team ? Thank you

Please could you give our helpline a call on 0808 808 1111 or email helpline@mencap.org.uk so you can talk this through with one of our advisors.
You could also contact your local carers centre as they may have a benefits advisor who can talk you through your options.
Sorry this isn't a clearer answer. Pensions and benefits are very complex areas and a trained advisor would be the best person to help you and your son.
Has your son ever worked or been on Special Education Needs. So he would be getting Social Security Benefits that he's entitled to ,hope this helps you ..And ESA would be the one you need to look at if he's never worked still should get the support side of this if he's never worked wish you luck and all the best ..
