I am trying to get help with finding a supported living establishment for my disabled nephew aged 40. His mother died last June. He is living in Stratford upon Avon at present but his only other surviving relative is his sister who lives in Newark. We need to try to make it more practical by moving him much closer to his sister than 2 and a quarter hours drive away.
Please, please can somebody give us some advice on how to sort this problem out?

Hi, assuming that your nephew will receive funding for support via Social Work, I would suggest that your first point of contact would be his social worker. If your nephew doesn't have a named social worker, a call to the duty social worker should get things started.
Speak to adult social services and you may also find the carers association could support you. But I would start at Adult social services and there’s always the Mencap helpline.
Hello, thank you for making contact. I suggest you contact the local authority/council. If your nephew has a social worker if might be an idea to speak to them also. If he does not have a social worker please contact the adult learning disability team at Southwark: southwark.gov.uk/social-car....
You could also call the Learning Disability Helpline on 0808 808 1111
Has he got a Social Worker? If so, contact them and they should help. If he hasn’t, you can still contact Social Services for advice and they may allocate a social worker to him.
