There's a site adam-mila.com/ its' american but I think it has some well explained info ... background on the subject. There is also another site sltforkids.co.uk/ they are a speech and language organisation. Now you have a diagnosis I presume you will need to look into what support you can get for your child.
Hello
I am sorry to you are not getting the support you need. This must be hard for you and your son.
If you are worried about behaviour (it is really common) you might find the Challenging Behaviour Foundation useful - challengingbehaviour.org.uk/
There are also some great ideas for coping on here - healthunlocked.com/mencap/p...
You might find it helpful to talk to other parents. There are some on this online community, but you could also see if there is a local parent carer group near you. Many people find it really reassuring to meet other families who have been through similar things. It is also a good chance to see what support is available near you and share ideas.
Search on Google for 'parent carer' and then the place where you live. You could also try searching for 'carers centre' and the place you live, as they support unpaid carers (like you) and will know of local groups.
Please also call our helpline on 0808 808 1111 or email helpline@mencap.org.uk and talk to one of our trained advisors. It is free and our advisors can help with your questions about diagnosis and support.
Best wishes
Sarah
