Hello Billy

Thanks for posting on here.

If you are on the learning disability register then you should be offered the vaccine very soon. You have done the right thing by checking you are on the register. It is good news that you are.

It is taking a little time to get in contact with everyone. Some areas are moving quicker than others. They will contact you as soon as they can.

Please let us know when you hear from them.

Best wishes

Sarah

Thelonelyone38 hi ,you dont always need to be on the register to get it. i got it ages ago and it was nothing to do with the register or being far up the vunerable list.

my support staff just rang up the local everest chemist where there is a vaccine station and as im in a care home, he wanted me to have one-so he said can i come in and get a vaccine, they said no problem-we got loads left over, come down now and we will fit him in.

just phone up/ask for support to phone up your local chemist that is doing the injection, and ask about being fitted in,towards the end of the chemist opening time is better as there is a lot more chance of you getting fitted in, due to more of the stuff being left over, they waste so much of it.

i dont know if you have issues with needles but for me it helped that id been given one of my 5mg diazepam PRN pills and had my PECS schedule right in front of me and hand massage to keep calm but got the injection, which isnt a big needle compared to others, its very thin, its mainly felt coming back out.
