Lockdown Restrictions

Hi. I remember from the first lockdown there were exemptions for people with disabilities and their carers. They could access the outdoors more than once a day and can drive to these places although local is still preferabl. I remember there were guidelines which highlighted these exemptions but is it the same for this Lockdown? If so, I can't find the exemptions in the current guidance and if they exist please could someone send me the link. Thank you!

Hello.

Under the Exercising section of the government guidelines it says:

If you (or a person in your care) have a health condition that routinely requires you to leave home to maintain your health - including if that involves travel beyond your local area or exercising several times a day - then you can do so.

gov.uk/guidance/national-lo...

I hope that helps reassure you. For some getting out more than once a day is vital and saves the NHS in other ways.

Thanks @lolo - that is just the right bit 😀

VanillaSki - this says that you should be ok if you need to go out more than once or travel outside your local area.

People are interpreting the exercising rules in different ways, but this bit actually seems a bit clearer (although they haven't promoted it widely).

I really hope this helps.

Cheers

Sarah
