Hi,

Recently became disabled (hopefully not forever). In a wheelchair - TERRIBLE EXPREIENCE. So sad and depressed.

Any one out there who's disabled and depressed?

Hi Hidden

I'm sorry to hear about your difficulties.

Please forgive my forward "speech" but is there a medical reason that you may never walk again or is this your state of mind at the moment?

I don't suppose you had a good amount of time to prepare yourself for your present circumstances. You've obviously been suffering for many years with pain, then surgeries, then healing, then repeating it all over again.

You now know you don't have to travel in that circle any more but, you do have to make a new route to follow.

In time, when you have recovered from your latest surgery and springtime is around the corner, whether you are in a wheelchair or using walking aids, you will need to make some positive plans for the new you in all it's glory and present yourself to the world again.

Things are always bleaker at the start of a new unwanted journey but you can make it a positive start.

I wish you well and hope you start to see the sun shine in your life.

Hi Lynne. I’m really sorry you are having such a horrible time and it is no wonder you are depressed. Suddenly finding yourself in a wheelchair is a massive thing to have to deal with and this awful virus will be making it even harder for you. You have done great so far, and with time and a lot of love I’m sure things will become more manageable for you. I hope you find someone in a similar situation to chat to, and I send you my best wishes. x
