I was wondering does anybody have any ideas of where my 18 year old daughter who has Down Syndrome could get some volunteering work. I was thinking a friendly cafe maybe who would be able to help her, I am willing to volunteer as well if needed as she would need would need 1:1 . Or any other ideas ?
Thank you.

Hi Barneydino, it’s really difficult at the moment I have been trying my self and they are not wanting to take us on because of the situation, confusing rules etc.
there is an organisation called United Response- unitedresponse.org.uk/suppo... who help disabled people (LD,ASD etc) with finding Voluntary or paid work, they also can support the person,I have had house mates In the past use the Manchester service and they loved it I think.
UR has head offices all over the place, and I woud wonder if even if one isn’t near her,she coud be still given supported voluntary work by them? It’s worth checking out,if you aren’t nearby any of them on the map.
Perhaps you could pop to the coffee shops and ask them? Or a charity shop and again ask if she could?
You could also try contacting your local Mencap if there's one near you? Some of the local Mencaps run their own volunteering/employment projects - for example, Worthing Mencap even has its own cafe called Buddys.
Or they might be able to sign post you to 'disability friendly' local businesses.
