Uc credit help. My son will be 20 in november and I need some advice. I've made a claim for universal credit on his behalf, as his appointee. He has a severe learning disability. He is due to start college on the 7th of september on a foundation studies course. Will this affect his claim for uc even though he has a ehcp and diagnosed learning disability

UC? Citizens Advice is there to help. Just google to find your local office and if you are unable to go into the office there will be a local advice line.

Doctor’s letter which they will ask you for- just follow jobcentre instructions

CARERSUK have a benefits advice service as well. Carers are able to get specific advice for themselves and their families. Hope this helps.

No it shouldn’t affect his claim, my daughter get UC and is at college (3 days educational and 2 days social care).

Thank you

It does not affect him at all because he Is classed as LD.

If you google contact a family they deal with this issues. And they will advise you a bit more on it.
