My cousin is autistic (21 yrs old) and requires 24 hr care. He is currently in supported living however this is failing him drastically and is currently in intensive care due to late recognition of an illness (not coronavirus). What can I do? How do I find more appropriate housing for him? We live in Whitehaven, Cumbria where these services are few and far between. Can I get assistance for him to rent a property and then have care provided?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I think it would be a case of going back to adult social care and clearly stating:
- why the previous living situation did not meet his needs
- what type of living situation you think would meet his needs, and why
And yes, renting and having care provided is possible.
There is a guide (aimed at siblings, but I think you'll still find it helpful) from Sibs called When your disabled brother or sister needs support: How to get a care needs assessment
