Hi Sedley my son has an annual health check this coming week and has been having every year for the last five or more years. Our surgery are maybe on the ball. It may be necessary to highlight that your son/daughter has learning disabilities and ask for a health check however if you are concerned about a health issue don’t wait for an invite. Alternatively make an appointment to see a doctor to discuss having an health check at some future appointment.Unfortunatley it may be that they may have Coronavirus on their agenda and it might not be a good time. Good luck

Hello sedleywilson. There is a very specific Learning Disability Health Check that people are entitled to - providing the patient is recognised as having a Learning Disability by their GP. This means registering for something called the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF) Register with your surgery. If you are interested People Matter IW can provide you with a detailed checklist. Please let us know and we can e mail this to you. You can find our contact details on our website: peoplematteriw.org.
