Hello everyone,
Laila here from the Wills & Trusts Service. Want to tell you all about a special new event we are running next March.
Parents phone Mencap's Wills & Trusts Service on a near daily basis asking us questions such as whether they need a Deputyship, what a Power of Attorney is, and lots more around the topic of when their loved one can make decisions for themselves, and if a parent or carer can. In response we decided to run a new 'decision making seminar' with the help of the wonderful Phillip Warford, a friendly specialist solicitor from Renaissance Legal.
We want to ease your worries around this topic, and help with the misinformation that some people are given.
You can book your place at mencap-decisions.eventbrite... - I would recommend booking early, as places are very likely to fill up fast. If you would rather book over the phone, or would like guidance on this topic or Wills & Trusts, give us a call on 020 7696 6925 or email willsandtrusts@mencap.org.uk. We would be happy to help.
You can also find out more about the importance of using a Trust when leaving money in your Will to a person with a learning disability at mencap.org.uk/willsandtrusts
Best wishes
Laila, Wills & Trusts Service
