I am having a very rare night out tonight to go and see the new Joker movie. It looks amazing, although I know a lot of people think it is too violent.
I watch films all the time. Usually at home on the tv. It is my escape. I am a bit of a nerd and I like monsters and science fiction.
Bearing in mind that not everyone likes this sort of film I thought I would share my 3 favourite movies that I think everyone should see (I might surprise you):
1 - ET. My favourite of all time. But it is very long (not great for me these days as I tend to fall asleep)
2 - Paddington 2 - love it. My kids love it. I don't fall asleep. It also makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside
3- Aliens - ok. I had to get an alien in there somewhere.
I am also hoping to see Peanut Butter Falcon at some point (probably when it comes out on DVD). I looks fab. Saw a tralier on the TV about it the other day. Apparently it was written for the lead actor who has downs.
I think I will score 0 points then, my favourite genre of film is gruesome horror, the scarier the better. Call me strange but there's nothing better than dimming the lights and putting on a gory horror. My recommendations would be
1. The Saw series
2. Resident evil series
3. The Originals series on netflix, slightly tamer. None family friendly but then again it depends on the type of family you have😂
How was the film? It looks amazing. My favourite films are The Godfather (classic), Bridge Jones, and I love a Marvel film. A bit of a wide variety I know. Not sure about the Saw films but I will have a look at the Originals. Like many people on here films/TV are one of the few things I can fit into my life that are just for me. A bit of down time. i try to read but I am usually too tired so even a good book can put me to sleep. A bath is also a chance for a few quiet moments, although everyone seems to need the loo at just the moment I get in. Also, as the bathroom is on the same floor as the bedrooms there is a lot of talking/shouting through walls to ask me questions/have a chat when I am lying there.
Sounds like my house re bathtime, either a cue of peeps needing the loo or my son constantly calling me asking "how long you be"? I find it's the same when needing the loo, there's suddenly a queue of others who are far more desperate than me. Even the grand kids are in on it now.
I love Disney films (which is fortunate in my house as I rarely get to watch a grown up film). My son does struggle to concentrate for a whole film so we need ones that we can stop and start easily without finding it too hard to pick up again.
Our favourites are Moana, Toy Story, and we even made it out to the new version of Lion King. I did like the new Lion King - I had never seen the original.
I really like the range of films in this post - I am sure there is something for everyone.
When my son was younger it was Barney all day every day. The whole family can now recite every word to every Barney song, I still find myself singing them now and if my other grown children are around they always join in!
