Can anyone recommend a solicitor who can help us with making a court of protection health and welfare deputyship application for our 23 year old daughter with sever learning difficulties?

Hello bonniola

Thanks for posting your question. This is a topic that a lot of people ask about.

We have a Wills and Trust Service who will be able to help. You can all call them on 0207 696 6925 or email willsandtrusts@mencap.org.uk.

They will be able to send you a list of specialist Wills and Trusts solicitors in your local area.

Although these solicitors’ primary area of work will be around Wills and Trusts, the solicitors may also specialise in the sort of applications you ask about or they may be able to signpost to the relevant colleague in their law firm. You will need to call a few of the solicitors on the list to check that they have the relevant expertise to do exactly what you are interested in.

I really hope this helps. It would be great if you let us know how you get on.

Thanks

Sarah
