💥📣 Wakey Wakey!! It’s Friday So It Must Be: Pom Pom Time!!

Another week whizzes by and we have a regular, or maybe an irregular, cavalry charge of HU runners this weekend, all needing to hear your whoops of support and feel the draught of waving Pom Poms as they steel themselves for the start!

First up we have:

🌟our very own serial Masters Champion, RunBrianRun going for gold in “The Big One” ;The British Masters Indoor Championship which takes place on Saturday and Sunday in the Lee Valley Indoor Stadium. Fresh from victory in two previous races this year, Brian is running in a field of 6, any one of whom is capable of winning. Brian’s family will be there to cheer him on, as will we in spirit. He has provided a video link and further details in his post of yesterday. So no pressure Brian…..just GoBrianGo!!

Then, on Sunday, we have:

🌟 A whole host of runners, some dusting off their racing gear for the first time this year, taking part in the Cancer Research London Winter 10k Run. So lots of Pom Pom waving for Irishprincess David_G cheekychipmunks TailChaser Katnap Time_Lord drl212 and Sandraj39 . This route passes many iconic landmarks, including St Paul’s Cathedral and Trafalgar Square, and there are many added attractions including polar bears, huskies, penguins, choirs, bands …you name it is likely to be there! BUT all of those attractions are likely to be drowned out by the excited chatter of our HU Host! The medal looks amazing 🙂

🌟Finally, also on Sunday, our long distance walker Shake-and-run , no doubt accompanied by lots of friends and many others is planning to take on a 9 mile walk through the Forest of Dean which forms part of the Gloucester Way. Watch out for the weather there Shakes, there looks to be a Yellow Weather Warning for Sunday.

thanks for the shout out BC. Our organiser has taken note of the weather warning and moved the walk to Saturday. Unfortunately I’m committed to a prior engagement at a conference where I shall be ‘sat sitting’ all day. Think I might have to brave the weather on Sunday on my own.

There are 21 athletes in the M60 field of which there are 6 in with a decent chance of grabbing the medals!

3 heats of 7 at 10:00am and then the final, should I make it, is at 14:03.
