It is a beautiful morning; so nice to wake up to sunshine, bright blue sky and not a breath of wind. Just under 22 degrees C, which is quite warm enough thank you very much. Perfect running weather!

Whilst end of July into August is usually a quiet period for racing, this weekend we have two of our stars (everybody on HU is a star!) ready to lace up, head out and bring home the bling. So, let’s give them a huge wave of support, and create a cooling breeze by the wafting of Pom Poms, to help them get out and over the line with smiles on their faces.

We have:

🌟 The amazing  Hedgehogs123 , who is all set to take on the Heckington 10 miler on Saturday morning. The run is just one part of a large tightly timed multi activity event, which allows a 2 hour slot for completing the run at the official finishing line. After that, runners will be diverted to an alternative route to finish their runs. No problem for Hedgehogs123, but that seems a bit tight to me. Just enjoy your day Hedgehogs123; I hope that OH is feeling better now and that your day ends with a broad smile….and bling of course!!

Then we have:

🌟 The irrepressible  RunBrianRun who has two big races in Derby over Saturday(100 m where Brian is defending his British Masters title) and Sunday (200m). He has, we know, suffered with injury niggles over the last couple of weeks so 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞he wakes up loose as a goose tomorrow morning. I have been reading about a 17 year old who has hit 9.93 seconds for 100m…we are not expecting that Brian….just a win would be great! Oh, I think we have already agreed that winding up the starter is a bad idea 👍😂

Aww, that’s a lovely Pom Pom shout out BC.

Unfortunately I’ve had to withdraw from the competition as I injured my adductor on Monday at the vets league match.

I’m trying to come to terms with not racing and being able to defend my title but it’s tough. I’m sure I would have done well as I was just approaching peak performance.

I’ll have to save it for the worlds in 3 weeks and pray that the injury heals up by then.

awww thats a real shame, but you need to look after yourself so when you do defend your title, you are 100%. I know its hard to do, but rest up and take care.
