And the weather forecast is β¦β¦ sunny with light winds till 6. At which time the heavens will open and a headwind will strike me down as I line up at 6.45-7.00pm
At least itβs not an illegal tail wind π

Oh crikey!
May the met office be wrong!
Good luck Brian, we're all (a long way) behind you π
Use it to your advantage Brian. Everyone else will be in the same boatβ¦..π
Thanks IP.
Itβs a strange concept at these events because itβs not really about placing in the race itself, although thatβs useful. Basically you race with others rather than against them to get a good time. The organisers set up the races so that you are with other runners who are about the same time as you. This in turn will urge you on to a better time as you will want to beat someone who is right there next to you rather than miles ahead or behind. Itβsa similar concept in some ways to how pacers are used in the middle distance events.
You can see now perhaps how having a head wind makes it an almost pointless exercise in terms of timings. In this case itβs more about race experience.
Anyway, Iβll turn up and you never know. The wind might just be in my sails after all.
Oh no, hope you can blast through that windy weather! X
Good run for your run this evening Brian no matter what the weather is. π ππΎ

Go Brian, youβll cut through that wind like a knife through butter. Hope you have fun regardless of the British Summer. π¦ π¨
Did it rain? Did you all get soaking wet?
Iβll post a run report later but suffice to say that the wind was in my sails tonight ππ
