It’s open! Anyone else in? Trying not to get excited about it because I know the chances of actually running are pretty slim.

Definitely not. I know the London Marathon is supposed to be every runner's dream, but I'd absolutely hate it, so why would I deprive somebody else of the chance of a place?

Thanks MissUnderstanding . While I can get quite emotional watching it, and start thinking it must be amazing to take part, I know that in reality I couldn't cope with the crowds and noise. Plus I have absolutely no desire to spend hours running on roads in a city that I don't even particularly like!

I also don't think anyone should enter the ballot unless they genuinely want to take part and are prepared to commit to training properly if they get in.

totally agree Cmoi , me and my OH have tried several times without success, we did the first virtual in 2020 - which was ok, and in itself quite special because of the circumstances - and super challenging thanks to storm Alex..🌧💦☔️…🤷‍♀️…..but we’d still like to do THE LM on the streets of London……a person we knew got ballot place every time they tried - 3 times that we know of…. (they only applied because their mates did ) with absolutely no intention of doing it……as you say depriving a genuine applicant….

We might try to get in just one last time…..😉

I think this will be my 7th time entering the ballot. I got in once but that was back in the day when you'd definitely get in if you entered a certain number of times before. I'm not sure if that rule still applies. Ive run it a few times for charity but never that fast. I'd like to give it a proper go and see the best time I can get... before hanging the runners up!

I have entered AGAIN too, although I think I would be terrified if I actually got a place!😂 Chances of getting a place may be slim but people do get in on their first attempt. My husband ran it last year (I think second time of applying) whilst I think this is my 5th time aentering the ballot!😂 Good luck!
