Congratulations on running 50 miles in October, that was a good 10K you had apart from that near-miss with the deer, I was always a little worried when I was cycling very fast down a hill about 15 miles from where I live that a deer would run out of the forest, hit me or a car, luckily it never happened, those deer don't have any road sense whatsoever, I hope to run my 19th 10K tomorrow morning at sunrise, about 8.15, next week for a short while we will have an extra hour of daylight in the morning.
Good for you Sparky πItβs a lovely moment when deer appear. There is a deer park close to me and so Iβve seen a few on my runs, but the sight always still makes me stop in awe. They really are such graceful and beautiful animals. I once a little family together, mummy and two babies π
At least if you encounter a lion on Sunday it will no doubt make you run faster ππββοΈ
Oh deer! Sounds like a good run with added wildlife to keep it interesting. I was thinking thatβs good practice for Chester - and hopefully there wonβt be any wild cat surprises! I think the most exotic thing Iβve seen recently is a rabbit, oh, and a squirrel πΏ. All the best Sparky! π
Yes time can be an issue. Iβd love to run a bit longer on weekdays but that little thing called work gets in the way - so annoying! But it pays for all those running bits and bobs I probably donβt need. And longer runs at the weekend can, letβs face it, take up most of the morning π€£. Itβs an investment in yourself, thatβs for sure! π
Getting into the mood! I've only come across deer like that when cycling, but it's every bit as startling. Lions? now that would make for a great race report!!!
Well done Sparky! Iβve had a few interactions with deer too. Like you, one burst through the trees in front of me. We were both very surprised! Best of luck with the zoo run too! Lions would make a good story!
It all adds to the fun, but can definitely catch us out! I came face to face with a large stag once with only one antler.... my first thought was Blimey he's huge... the second was where is the guy that took the antler off, he must be even bigger!! π±π€£ππ»
