I’m looking to buy a pair of running gloves after I failed to undo my shoe laces yesterday as my fingers were so cold, stiff and numb. I’m Looking for recommendations and advice as I haven’t experienced running in the cold for over 11 years. I probably should wear some of those running tights things too. Is fair to say my winter wardrobe is very lacking. 😂😧

I’m interested in replies ! My sister bought me a pair by Vbiger and my only criteria when asking her to get them was to have thumb and first finger ‘touch screen’ so you can use your phone. No doubt they were the cheapest she could find and my first time out in them my hands sweated like crazy and they were coated in condensation on the outside and soaked through from inside ! Never had sweaty hands before but certainly had cold frozen fingers !!

I have cheap pair from Decathlon a couple of years ago. They are thin and have touch screen fingers that work. They have a layer that unrolls and goes over the fingers to form a mitt. As they are so thin they fit in a pocket once my fingers warm up. I need thicker ones for my bike but these have always done the job for running.

These look very similar decathlon.co.uk/p/evolutiv-...

Thanks Linda. I like the idea of the mitt. I’ll check those out. 👍

At least they won't break the bank if you don't like them! The mittt is like a windproof layer, the glove a more stretchy fabric

They look really good. 👍🏻

They are thin, so not for ultra cold, but definitely useful for moderately cold!

Not sure how much you want to spend but earlier this year I got a pair of Ron Hill Afterlight gloves for £12 from Extreme GB. They're lightweight fold up small and go in my tights pocket if I get too warm on a run. They're reflective which is a bonus if you run after dark and have a touchscreen sensitive finger tip

Thank you Birdlady64 The Ron hill gloves get good reviews so I may upgrade later 👍

I have two pairs, 1 is a cheap silk pair from ebay which do the job 99% of the time as my hands tend to get hot, not cold running, but I use them starting off or if I start to get cold. Fit in pocket easily and dry fast if they get rained on. They were only about 4 quid delivered. These are very similar ebay.co.uk/itm/263607321554

The other is a Ronhill pair of thin fleece gloves in neon pink. They're extra cosy for anything colder. Like these sportsshoes.com/product/ron...

I’ve got all sorts of ones but my faves are my very fine merino Ron Hill ones that my son bought me I’ve not worn gloves yet this year but that might change today 🥶

I’ve got two pairs of Karrimor hi viz ones, which are thicker, for colder dark runs They are cheap as chips. Matching headbands too 🙂

Thanks everyone for your advice. I have a habit of losing gloves so I’ve ordered a cheap pair that Linda recommended for now.

I have running gloves but they are not great. I’ve found that cycling gloves are better in the coldest weather.
