Morning all, set out this morning for 16k, all a bit rushed, put on my new garmin(60th birthday last week๐), popped my ipod in pocket, set on nike run and off I went๐๐spent a little time with coach Bennet, then some music. By 14k felt ok, little thigh niggle for a couple of mins, not a problem. Then I couldnt remember what I was aiming for 15 or 16k.By 15k was flagging a bit but managed to slow down a bit more and decided to go for 17, and managed it with nothing in the tank๐ฉ. When I looked at nikerun stats it said 17km 2:05:54 ๐when I looked at garmin it said 14.259 km 2:06:45๐??
Any suggestions about the difference in stats?

Next guess then is that it lost the GPS signal at 14k. Try again and see if it keeps happening, if so it would be worth contacting Garmin about it, although there are a number of things you can try to help improve your GPS connection.
This is for the Fenix 5s, but probably the same info is true for any Garmin. However you can search for help specific to your watch if it's not a Fenix 5s support.garmin.com/en-US/?i...
Step count: If you have a short stride it may overestimate. Believe Garmin.
GPS: Did you do a route with many sharp bends or tight laps or corners? If you did, then two GPS trackers can easily give different results, as the one which picks up the signal less often will cut off all the corners. Believe Nike.
Maybe a longer distance thing?๐ earlier in the week the garmin seemed more accurate on my 5k as I know more consistent stats for that distance, oh well.
Have you taken a look at the maps the two produced? do they look the same? can you see where they diverge (one chunk missing? or a gradual difference in difference?). Can you try plotting the same route in strava or mapmyrun or google or plot a route ... or any number of other apps ... to find a best of three? If you accidentally paused garmin you should be able to see that from where the garmin map ends. The other thing you could check is the moving time vs elapsed time - if you accidentally stopped Garmin the moving time should be much less than that in NRC.
Sadly I found that phones tend to give a much more generous distance than the watches but when I've plotted routes in the os app the watch is much closer to the predicted os distance ๐๐ป I originally used Samsung health to record runs and cycling... really made me look good ๐คฃ
