The saturday long run on a gloomy morning in London. I have been trying to focus on running slower as I increase my distance and I think im getting the hang of it😄. I set out with the intention of 12k and started with an easy pace and felt comfortable. It wasnt as cold as I had anticipated, so was glad I opted for my very light jacket and no hat😄Although we have a lot of green space near to my home, it seemed very busy with like-minded runners so I decided to take a trip down memory lane to the neighborhood I lived in when my children were very small. It was interesting to see the changes and improvements but not very inspiring😔.How I miss my runs on the south coast where I would normally soend weekends visiting my parents, never mind, all in the same boat so to speak.Next thing I know I am nearing 12k and although I am beginning to tire I decide to press on and managed a run of 14k✔🏃super pleased with myself👍and looking forward to a relaxing afternoon.

Congratulations on your 14k that made it brilliantly worthwhile run on a gloomy morning.
A brilliant brilliant Saturday run Queenie17 and what a distance 👍
Thank you, I am still beaming😄
Fantastic run Queenie. Well done on getting those extra 2k in! The long runs are supposed to be slow and easy so you are on the right track.
That's a great distance! You made the most of your gloomy morning. Slow is definitely the way to go as you build distance. Enjoy!!!
Isn’t slow wonderful!! A chance to appreciate surroundings, work on breathing techniques and all those things when you’re not struggling. 🤩
How right you are, I did actually breath mire efficiently, trafffic fumes and all😄
Great work! I'm also working on finding a nice steady pace - my Garmin HM plan is set up so it sets a pace range and alerts me if I drift above or below it. To begin with I found it quite inefficient to go so slowly but after a few runs trying to stay in that zone it is getting much easier anf I can see it will stand me in good stead as the distances increase.
I love slow running. I slow run up hills too as they’re strengthening and keep your speed down 😃💪👍. Slow runs build legs 🙂
