Hello everyone! I managed to somehow get a ballot place in the London marathon and have been training my butt off to hopefully survive it. I have a few food related questions though..
1. How do you deal with the constant hunger and what snacks do you eat to curb your hunger? I want to eat everything in sight..
2. What is your favourite meal the night before a big race? Trying to plan my strategy now.
Thanks very much and good luck to everyone who's training for any type of race

Hello! Welcome to the Marathon community - hope you find fun and inspiration here!!!
Congratulations for your ballot place, how exciting!!!! I had a ballot place a couple of years ago, I couldn't believe it when I saw that magazine on my doormat 😊😊😊
Here're my answers:
1. I like to time my runs to finish just before a meal, so I don't eat so many snacks. When I do have a snack I like a handful of nuts, and I usually keep a stash of some sort of cake or biscuit bar, or flapjack, around - I'm not very fussy 😄
2. Pizza. Just plain cheese and tomato - no onions or jalapenos! I find this works pretty well for me from a digestive and from a social point of view (my husband loves pizza).
My usual fare the evening before is a grilled salmon fillet with wholemeal pasta and some spinach lobbed in at the last minute to wilt it down Parmesan or Philly Scattering of walnuts and some fresh basil leaves
