Are you running an event this February? Would you like to be included in the weekly POM POM post so we can give you a BIG CHEER?
As you may already know, we put up a new post each month to log everyone's events (there's a separate one for January - link at the bottom of this post).
So, if you've entered a race this February (it doesn't have to be a marathon - any event, any distance) make a note in the comments below so we can cheer you on.
Please tell us the name of the event, the date and give us a link to the event website if available, and we'll add you to the weekly pom-pom cheer !!!!!
I’m doing The Wiltshire 10 on 9 February, a 10 mile road race with lots of speedy youngsters 🙀 It’ll be my first ever race at this distance so I’m part excited/part eeeek but it’ll test my HM training in readiness for March 🏃♀️💪🙂
London Winter Run for me too - though whether I will be able to run the whole of it with the chest problem remains to be seen. My GP has assured me I won’t do myself any harm - it’s just hard to breathe, so I may have to break the run up with walking sessions. Never done that before. I run a lot faster than my fast walk, so my time will suffer.
Thanks Linda ❤️ I don’t understand the jeffing being faster: if I walk flat out I can’t match my running speed. Anyway, needs must. I was hoping to do it in not much more than an hour, but I think that’s out the window now. Anyway, for that bling I will crawl round! 😂
Ah, ok, that makes sense, though It doesn’t seem to be working that way for me. With this blighted chest affliction, I’m out of breath whatever speed I run at
I have 2 races in February, on the 9th I am doing the hurtle which is a road race and in the daytime which is a new thing for me as everything else I have done is at night and trail. runningforever.club/humdinger/ Maybe next year at this event I will do the humdinger half marathon
On the 15th February though I am back to my comfort zone doing the 10k escape from wych woods trail race in the dark flyingfoxrunning.co.uk/race...
When I get back I will put my mind to finding sonewhere we can try to meet up. Not that I'm the right person for the job as I don't know London at all 😍. Not long now!
No, it certainly isn't! I think there were around 30,000 people taking part last year so my friend had trouble picking me out even though I must have run past her! I'm not the tallest chap though, so that might account for it.! 🙂
Hi Linda I don't usually put my club only races up for a shout out but this one is pretty epic so I think I will!
I'm doing the Hastings Runners Pier2Pier race on Sun 9th Feb. We get taken by coach to Eastbourne Pier and then we have to run back - you would think from the name back to Hastings pier but no......once you get there it's another mile or so on to the angling club at the end of the seafront 🤣
16.1 miles in total and the weather forecast is atrocious - at least the predicted 45mph wind is behind us!
I'm a bit late to the party, but supposed to be doing the inaugural Chichester Harbour 15k trail run this Saturday 8th, but having been floored for the past 10 days by a nasty virus I'm unsure as to whether or not I'll be there … It is a fantastic route around Thorney Island and sure to be a lovely muddy one!
Fabulous, good luck! A great choice for your first HM. We already have four HUers in our spring half marathon group doing that one, including our very own roseabi , so HU will be very well represented 😍
