Terrific day in South Wales today, as I joined my sister, BethMay and some 27,500 others for the Cardiff HM. Weather was very kind, but I hit the wall at 19k and from then on in it was a big struggle!
Still I got round and thatβs my second HM to add to the nine π³ 10K races since starting C25K less than 18 months ago. Itβs been quite a journey!
....right, whatβs next? π

Massive well done, Ian! πππ So glad you enjoyed it, thatβs why we run, right?! You did brilliantly and should be so chuffed with how far you have come. I know how you feel though - the last KM of my recent HM felt like MILES! But you got grit, it seems, and thatβs half the battle! Congratulations! Lovely medal, too. π π
Your journey has indeed been just amazing! Congratulations! πΎπ₯π ππ»π€Έπ»ββοΈππ»π€Έπ»ββοΈππ»π€Έπ»ββοΈππ»ππ π₯β‘οΈππ What is next?
Love it! Congratulations - that's a massive event. It sounds like a good deal of grit and determination was required to get from 19k to 21.1k - well done! A medal well earned.
Yeah - was feeling fine at that point, you should have seen me towards the end though! Btw you can ask for your βhalf marathonβ badge on here now, youβve earned it!
Tough going when you hit the wall. Thats when I have been lucky enough to have a pacer nearby to drive me on. Glad you are already lookingfor your next event. So many HMs, so many cities...
Brilliant, well done to you, Beth May & Candy Cool. I had a great time too. It got tough at Roath Park but the crowds were amazing & that carried me through. π
