Was a great race with lots of pink to go around (much to my dismay... not such a pink fan)

Race itself was very much an uphill battle both literally going up into District 6 against Table Mountain and figuratively by all the dodging required to actually run for the entire race due to the high number of entries for the race (+- 6 000 entries total for 5km & 10km).

Spent the first two kms dodging the walkers who thought it would be a good idea to stand in front and the last 3km dodging the 5km walkers taking up the entire road on route to the finish...

Finished in a not amazing time of 1h10:02 but after yesterdays Brick workout (20km cycle & 5km run) and speed training the day before I took it easy... Only swimming tomorrow

And yes, SO MANY PINK THINGS! I realise pink makes some people happy, but when did it become such a uniform? Any clothing manufacturer that offers more than 10% pink—effectively putting me in the ladyrunner category—is off my radar 😡

I dislike entirely the whole pink and blue thing, and in fact the idea of that sort of gender identification altogether! I once looked for and found a company that makes black baby clothes. Not that I have a baby or anything Some people do, though...

Trying hard... Aiming for a new PB tomorrow if all goes well!

Luckily our club colours are blue, although they are quite strict with what pants we wear... (must be royal blue, not patterns or anything. I wish we could wear black pants then we can buy them anywhere - the club sells nice blue pants but cost R360...)
