What a great idea roseabi I cant wait to read all of your stories too :)

Pic:

A:

This was taken last week when I had run for 545 days in a row ( coming shortly). Every now and then I do a pic like this to remind myself how far I've come!! I have also just invested in a few cheapo tops that i am trying out and doing bunches. I am clearly regressing as i get older!!

Q: Tell us a little bit about you!

A:

I am 47.5, I have been married for 23 years, I have 2 teenagers, a horse, 3 chickens and 2 rabbits!! I originally trained as a nurse, then became a senior district nurse working in Intermediate care. I have also worked as a project manager in Healthcare. Now I am a manager working with lots of GP's who keep people out of hospital and I chair lots of meetings! Other than running, I love art and interiors, food and wine!!

Q: How long have you been a runner?

A:

I started running in 2013 using C25k and I discovered this forum on week 3 and loved it!!! I will never forget nearly wetting myself on week 1 when laura said i would be running for 30 minutes after 9 weeks. I honestly didnt believe it!!

Q: Did you start running with a C25K programme? Why or why not?

A:

Yes, I found C25k as my friend told me about MFP and i looked on NHS choices, there was a vid saying anyone can run. I watched it and decided to do it so I went the next day!!!

Q: But what made you want to start running races?

A:

I think it just seemed to be a natural progression. First Parkrun, then races. I have to say i dont do many now, I am not a lover of crowds, hanging around and structure. I like the freedom of the trails.

Q: What's it like to run in your area?

A:

It so good. I am very lucky to live by some woods that are very hilly and challenging at times underfoot but its the best. I also see family regularly by the sea which is my fave place to run :)

Q: What is your favourite race event so far? And why?

A:

The Exmoor marathon was 5,000 feet of elevation and brutal. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, and I was very slow but I also loved the challenge.

Q: What are your favourite mid-race snack, and post-race meal?

A:

Candy kittens, rhubarb and custard and then pizza from Bosco ( wood fired oven restaurant) with fizz, lemonchello and chocolate truffles :)

Q: Name a favourite running website (plus link, please!):

A:

This one :)

Q: What's next for you, running-wise?

I am looking forward to reaching 1000 on my streak, improving on my PB's and also planning a coastal marathon at my mums and possibly another extreme marathon.

Wonderful - thank you!! I will link to this from the challenge post, hope that is ok?

I love that your job is to keep people out of hospitals.

A 1000-day streak - there must and shall be a huge celebration on that day!!!

Pizza always seems to my PRE race meal. I had it three nights in a row leading up to my ultramarathon, although that wasn't planned, and I don't know if it helped at all :D

A 1000 day streak! I don't think I could do anything for 1000 days straight, least of all something active :o

I love all your outfits, and rhubarb and custard YES. That was always my birthday pudding of choice when I was little, maybe it needs to make a comeback in my life as a post race reward...
