A big thank you to all who gave supportive advice when I was at my lowest. I think I may have panicked a bit. Since then most of the distortion has abated and I am now able to read text messages and able still with some difficulty to write them. I am now in a much better hopeful place. Thanks for the Macular SocietyTottloh

A thank you note
That's really good news tottloh and I'm glad you're in a much better hopeful place, as you say. Thanks for letting us know and good luck. You know where we are if you need to vent. xx
Hi tottioh, good news, very best wishes.
Glad you're feeling better; we all go through that feeling of panic and dread when we first get diagnosed until we understand all the facts.
Most of us on this site have experienced acute anxiety at some time after our diagnoses and treatment. Well I have anyway. Glad things have resolved for you. All the best.
It is scary and it took me a while to get my head round my diagnosis but this site and the FB page has made me feel like I am not alone in this . Best wishes
Glad you're in a more positive place. I had similar experience early this year & am now on injections for my left eye following CRVO & macular oedema (my right eye has no central vision due to CNV 12 years ago). I wasn't on this forum before then, but have found it so helpful. Glad to be somewhere where others understand. It's very difficult explaining to sighted people why you can do some things but not others. I've got reasonable but not full return of left vision after 3 injections & they are continuing these for the time being as there are still signs of slight bleeds. Like you I'd lived with one good eye. It's a major adjustment when the sight in your one eye is threatened so.
Glad for your improvement.
