Dr. Ruth Hogg, senior lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast, joins us for our next My Macular and Me webinar to discuss her recent Macular Society-funded research project that aims to uncover early signs of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
In 2014, the NICOLA study collected data, including eye scans, from approximately 8,500 individuals in Northern Ireland. In this new study, Dr. Ruth Hogg and her team will be reassessing these original participants and conducting repeat eye scans to track any changes that have occurred in the last decade.
It is hoped that this data will improve our understanding of what changes are natural signs of ageing, and what might be the earliest signs of AMD. Leading to better understanding and detection of AMD.
To learn more about Dr Ruth Hogg’s project and its potential to understand what happens in early AMD, join our webinar on Tuesday 17 October at 7pm.
