Hi everyone, only peripheral vision in left eye, noticed red spot which consultant said is a bleed, if i get flashes to get in touch as it could lead to detatched retina..i have had flashes, like camera flash but pink/purple colour, consultant looked at eye and just said it doesn't look bad, see me in 10 weeks...i understand there's nothing they can do (no injections in that eye for over 3 yrs)....i am just wondering about flying, air pressure, anyone had problems with this...due to go on hols in June x
Flying: Hi everyone, only peripheral vision... - Macular Society
Flying
Hi JJnan. Did you ask the consultant if it was OK to fly? You could always ring and speak to his secretary and ask her to find out for you or maybe ring the Macular Society Helpline, they may be able to help. Good luck. x
Did they do a scan to check the retina. My Mom (91 years old then) had flashes on then outside periphery and had a detached retina. They reattached it (laser weld I think). I had similar flashes and have a detached vitreous. there is nothing they can do. My flashes reduced over time but I still have more floaters. My Mom does not need Eyelea shots as often now. Good Luck of course.
Yes i had a scan 2 weeks ago, he just said if flashes get worse to get in touch, i k ow there's nothing more they can do for sight but might lead to retinal detatchment...i have emailed the sec , waiting for reply ...Glad your mother doesn't need as many injections...yes those floaters are annoying, hope they disappear soon xx
