Wet M.D. My "bad" eye looks smaller than the other one now

I've been getting regular injections in my bad eye, and the only thing that has happened lately is that I'm having slight double vision in that eye. (I put a post on that the other day.) Otherwise my vision has been fine.

Now my bad eye seems smaller than my other one, the lid seems not to open as far as my good eye. Has anyone experienced this? I can't imagine what could be done about it, but I just thought I'd post and see.

Very sorry to hear that, Whiskbroom. That is a new one on me. I would suggest that if it is difficult to see the ophthalmologist who gives you your shots, that you make an urgent appointment with the best local eye doctor in your area, or even your family physician (who could then refer you to an ophthalmologist if necessary).

Me too. It's my dominant eye, and it drives me nutsbecause if I use both eyes everything is distorted all the time. So I either squint

or shut it. Otherwise everything is distorted all the time. I figured I'm training it to squint and thus be smaller all the time. Wish I could find a way to switch dominance instead.

No personal experience but have a friend with this problem. His eyelid won’t stAy open. He has had Botox injections in nerves affecting muscles round eye and recently had minor surgery. Prior to that he had to tape eyelid open. Not sure of medical terms for this problem. Hope this helps. .

What a lot of interesting replies! Thanks, all. I do have an appointment with a specialist who deals with double vision. Of course I must wait patiently for any medical appointment. So far my eyelid is only drooping a little bit, but I don't want it to get worse! I see my retinal specialist for my next shot in about two weeks, so I'll ask her about it also. As Roseanne Rosanadana always said, "If it isn't one thing, it's another." Happy holidays to all of you, and thanks so much for all the intelligent and helpful replies.

"And it's usually both."

I have noticed that also. It may be due to the habit of squinting. I have double vision now in both eyes that glasses don't seem to be able to eliminate. Only way I can see better is to squint. Looking at photos of me, there is a big difference in how open I seem to have my eyes. My AMD eye, the right, is even "smaller" - maybe I squint more on the right.
