I had my Eyelea injection on Tuesday. The white of my eye is completely red I thought it would be red only on the side of the injection. Should I be concerned? Its not hurting at all but when I close my eye I see what looks like an imprint of paragraphs from a book whose letters I can't make out if that makes any sense.

Bruising of my eye from injection
Good Afternoon Midance,
This is a normal symptom following an injection that sometimes happens. Sometimes the needle breaks a blood vessel on the surface of the eye at the time of injection. This can cause the white of the eye (sclera) to look red for as long as two weeks. If the eye is red, but is painless and the vision is good, then it is most likely harmless.
However if it becomes painful and if vision starts to worsen then it will be best to contact the eye clinic.
All the best

Hi midancer. I've had this on more than one occasion, one time it was as bad as yours but the other time not so much but it's just one of those things - the injector can't see the blood vessels and sometimes catches one with the needle. Follow what Becky has said. Good luck and I hope all will be well. x
Don’t worry it will go better very soon. It’s happened to me twice now as you say it doesn’t hurt. Just looks alarming. You get lots of sympathy from people.
