Eyelea injections
I had my injections yesterday and asked for extra numbing drops before and for her to be gentle.i got both and had no pain at all
It wasn't me thom but I'm really glad you had a pain free injection and that all was well afterwards. x
I was a great advocate for being given a tiny vial of anaesthetic drops to take home, because I always had terrible pain after the injection.
However there's a sting in the tail/tale, (no pun intended). Altho' the drops worked miraculously on a few occasions; I then alas found my eye became super sensitive to them, and when the numbing wore off I my eye was smarting more than ever.
So take great care; do not overuse!.
We, the ophthalmic dept and I solved the problem by using 1/2 strength iodine, It was full strength iodine that was causing the problem in the first place.
There is an alternative to iodine, chlorohexidine, but my ophthalmologist thinks it "rubbish".
So I now manage OK with 1/2 strength iodine, and a good wash out, and paracetamol and ibuprofen + codeine. But post injection pain is a thorny problem. Best way to describe it!
All the best, thm3patty xx tell us how you get on
