Should I wear mask at amg clinic tomorrow
Good Morning Waddington,
we are advising people to wear masks or any form of face covering if they don't have a mask (scarves etc.) Some hospitals are handing them out too, but it depends if your eye clinic has masks to spare, you could always ring ahead to ask.
All the best,
Becky
Hi WADDINGTON. On my last visit to have my injection on 28 May, I took my own mask but on arrival, the receptionist told me that they preferred us to use the ones they supply. I'm not saying that all clinics/hospitals are saying that but many are. I hope all goes well for you. x
I have had two appointments recently and worn masks at each. You might want to wear disposable gloves and make sure your hair is covered- better to be safe than....
I would say yes use a mask. I have had to for my last two visits to the eye clinic.
Yes, last two times I've been they hand you one of their blue standard ones; they prefer you to wear theirs. They don't offer gloves though.
Yes I would wear one. I have been going every month since lock down and last time was the time most were wearing masks. Mine don’t give out masks so I would take one so that the clinical team can have them even if they do offer them to patients.
Yes it’s the same at my clinic. I wear my own but they greet you at the door and hand you a mask, sanitise your hands and take your temperature. All the best.
I had an eye appointment yesterday and wore my own home made face covering. When I arrived a nurse was waiting with hand sanitizer and giving out face masks. They let me keep my own on. I was the only one there though without a disposabke mask but they obviously didn't mind. I was made to keep it on for for the whole time, including the various scans. Next time i'll make use of their hand outs just for convenience although it does seem wasteful if you have your own washable ones.
I've been twice to Moorfields during the lockdown for injections. Both times I wore a blue paper surgical mask travelling there, which they asked me to throw away (there's a bin) and put on a new one. The first time I wore gloves too, and they asked me to throw those away as well, and keep sanitising or washing my hands - they said this was much more hygienic than wearing gloves. The hygiene in the clinic itself is fantastically precise and thorough, you don't need to worry about that once you're inside. I expect that's the same for most places where they do injections.
If you're in the UK you will have to wear a mask anyway to travel, unless a member of your household drives you there and back.
Always wear a mask when you are in public to protect other people from you and they wear a mask to protect you from them. It shows respect for others health and well being.
Why wouldn't you?
