Dangers of intraocular pressure (IOP) from intraocular injections.

My vision is slightly more "milky" and less sharp after injections – do relatively well with the Snellen chart and I think I'll probably need an injection – and I often wonder if it's not the result of the "distortion" caused by the extra fluid. I, therefore, read this with interest. The sooner the drops arrive, and we know they work, the better, it would seem to me.

Yep, rock and a hard place.......

My doc confirmed my glaucoma and cataracts are a result of lucentis, eyelea, and ozurdex injections for brvo with mac oedema.

But realistically, what choice was there? I prize my central vision over peripheral so it was lose one then definitely over maybe the other later.

Not everyone will get the same level of problems so quickly of course and at least we have some form of treatment for the condition and side effects.

Fingers crossed the drops work and we get them soon!

I guess in a few years it's possible the chance of stem cell implants will also need to be weighed into the consideration ... if drops aren't 100% successful.

Hello Eyesright, I'm in the states and I have been on Eyela for quite some time. My Doctor switched to Ozurdex so I could go a few months without injections. He did inform me that the Ozurdex may cause the development of cataracts, it did. I had the cataract removed and he put me back on Eyela, now I'm back to monthly injections. Even with the Covid 19 situation these injections are considered essential and he continues to administer them. I never heard that any of the eye medications could cause glaucoma. Cataracts can be cured, no cure for glaucoma only controlled. Sending you good thought and happy wishes. My fingers are crossed for you!

Thanks shelby427, yes it's in the data sheets that inj /implant can raise iop ( which if uncontrolled leads to glaucoma. )

Best wishes to you too x
