Since nobody has answered yet, I will try. I have experienced posterior vitreous detachment, and also had an unusual visual incident which the doctor told me was caused by a certain type of migraine. The two were not even similar. The posterior vitreous detachment is a very common thing that happens to many older people - the flashing lights seen in the periphery of vision - usually first in one eye, and then in a matter of days the other. I believe that in most instances this stops happening over time without indicating a serious problem. What I experienced that was called a migraine was a distortion in a portion of the visual field, in my case the upper lefthand quadrant of the field. Whether I had both eyes open or just one or the other made no difference. It looked like a television picture when the signal is not coming in well - but just in the upper lefthand portion of what I was seeing. It went away after about half an hour as I recall. Keep in mind that this incident is just one example of a particular sort of vision incident caused by what was said to be a migraine, and that it may not be representative of other or all such incidents.
Thank you very much for your reply.I have been diagnosed with pvd and a couple of weeks ago I had 12 (attacks) over 7 days and had come to the conclusion that they couldn't all be pvd problems and could be something else.I also have wet macular in my left eye and have had 10 eylea injections. I attended the eye hospital last week and they didn't seem concerned. Unfortunately as we all know eye problems are very frightening.
Yes they are. I too have wet AMD in one eye (and dry in the other). I have lost count of the inj's - which started out with Avastin, lately Eylea. I went through a period of pvd about 10 or 12 years ago. Best of luck to you. I hope whatever is wrong gets corrected.
