My grandson of 7 months has a retina scar. Is there a cure for the infant.

Retina scar in a 7 month old infant
Hi Envee
It is not all that rare that a scar is found in the retina of infants and young children, especially in children prematurely born. The cause is not all that well understood at the present. However, although scars do not disappear, they do not necessarily lead to visual problems unless they increase in number. The key is to have him regularly monitored.
With best wishes
Thanks for the help. Although the doctors whom we are consulting are of the opinion that it may not increase in size as the child grows, yet the recommendation is that he had to wear glasses for life. I would like to know if the power would increase with the age.
I'm not sure what you mean by "power"? Do you mean the improvement of his eye sight or the strength of the glasses? To the former I can only say that it all depends on how things progress - if they progress which does not necessarily follow. Only your grandson's ophthalmologist will know exactly what is going on in the little boys eyes, but even the experts cannot predict the future. Sadly, no one can! I quite understand your and his parents' worry; it is a frightening thing to be faced with, but things are usually not as bad as they seem at the time. Talk to an ophthalmologist, not just the opticians or GPs to get all the information you can if only to put your mind at rest.
Wishing you the very best. Good luck!
thank you for being so positive.
